BRIXTON X FENDER: THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY JAGUAR GUITAR COLLECTION

Two iconic Southern California brands come together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the legendary Fender Jaguar guitar with a limited-edition fashion collection. Inspired by the Jaguar’s sleek contours and ferocious bite, the capsule of hats, shirts, jackets and more is a fitting representative of this genre-bending trailblazer.

Since its birth in 1962, the Jaguar has helped define the surf sound, fallen in favor with punk and alternative artists, and become a go-to for a wide range of discerning musicians around the globe.

Now, six decades later, Fender is celebrating the Jaguar’s 60th anniversary with a new collection in collaboration with Southern California-based premium lifestyle brand Brixton.

When it initially debuted as a high-end addition to Fender’s standard lineup of models, the Jaguar was quite an exciting animal, with unique switching, a short scale length, a locking tremolo and deep contours that made it supremely comfortable to play.

Throughout the years, the Jaguar has transcended genres. Al Jardine and Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys and Bob Berryhill of the Surfaris were early adopters, while the Smiths’ Johnny Marr, My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields and Television’s Tom Verlaine famously brought the Jaguar into the rock arena.

In the ’90s, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore were just two luminaries who kept it in the forefront of the alt scene.

Needless to say, the Jaguar has made an impact on multiple generations, and who better to celebrate its impact with than a Southern California forged brand who draws inspiration from workwear through several generations to unite people from a variety of lifestyles. Creators and builders: the musicians, artists, craftspeople and travelers.

The new limited-edition line features Brixton’s famed flannels, graphic tees, headwear and more, inspired by the underground grunge scene of the ’90s, with large plaids, textured fabrics and throwback art prints. The collection commemorates the style of quintessential artists from the past who have helped to shape today’s music scene — similar to Brixton’s approach to retail.

With 12 pieces available in multiple colorways to appeal to a diverse range of tastes, the collab includes jackets, sweatshirts, tees, hats and more, all with design cues coming from Fender and Brixton’s rich histories.
