Grammy nominated Toronto born multi-platinum singer-songwriter and guitarist Shawn Mendes launched The Shawn Mendes Foundation in late 2019, on the heels of his sold out Stadium show at Toronto’s Rogers Center. The launch came 18 months after the release of his eponymous third album. Debuting at at Number One, Shawn Mendes became one of the top best-selling album debuts of 2018 and made Shawn the third youngest solo artist to ever have three consecutive #1 albums.

This Limited Edition guitar is a collaboration with Fender to support The Shawn Mendes Foundation. AN ELEGANT TWIST ON A FENDER CLASSIC

The Shawn Mendes Foundation Musicmaster is a one-of-a-kind guitar that complements Mendes' unique style – combining classic Fender tone and exquisite vintage inspired art in one striking instrument.

The history of the Musicmaster stretches back to the mid-'50s, when it was introduced as one of Fender's first-ever 3/4 scale student model guitars. Though the Musicmaster design underwent several updates and modifications over the years, it’s never looked quite like this.

The body of the Shawn Mendes Musicmaster is a literal work of art – boasting a fan's rendition of an intricate floral design. This distinctive flower motif is also reflected subtly in the pickguard – accented by a sleek gloss finish, knurled flat-top control knobs and nickel/chrome hardware.

But it doesn’t just look like a dream — it plays like one. The comfortable 24” short-scale model features an alder body, “C”-shaped maple neck and 9.5” radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and black dot markers. These classic foundational elements are paired with a Tex-Mex Single-Coil Strat pickup at the bridge and a Player Series humbucking pickup at the neck.

Controlled via master volume and tone knobs – plus a three-position toggle – this single/hum pickup configuration makes it easy to dial in a wide range of classic and contemporary Fender sounds. These cool features are rounded out by a strings-through-body Strat hardtail bridge with six bent steel saddles, a synthetic bone nut and standard cast/sealed tuners.

The result is an elegant showstopper with superior sound, style and playability – exuding legendary Fender tone with a striking floral twist.

THIS COLLABORATION IS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH FENDER'S CHARITABLE SUPPORT OF THE SHAWN MENDES FOUNDATION.
