WILL BENNETT DEMOS THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY HOT ROD DELUXE IV

The 1990s were a decade when the defining sonics of a lot of popular music shifted from ’80s synths and digital processors to more organic sounds. Hair metal was on the decline and guitar-driven grunge and alternative rock was becoming increasingly mainstream. As a result of this cultural sea change, there was a renewed interest in replicating classic tones from our legendary tube amps of the ’50s and ’60s, but also a need for models that could handle the rigors of modern stages and studios. So, in 1996, we introduced the Hot Rod Series, which took the iconic clean sound of our original amps and added extra drive circuits and other enhancements for more power and versatility. 

The Hot Rod Deluxe quickly became the preferred amp in backlines across the world and remains one of our most popular models to this day. To celebrate 30 years of this essential workhorse, we’ve created the limited-edition Hot Rod Deluxe IV 30th Anniversary amplifier  – an upgraded version of our beloved Hot Rod Deluxe IV – and we’ve recruited Will Bennett to take it for a test drive and show you all of the design updates and sonic possibilities on offer.
