The late 1960s was a heady time for music, and Fender was leading the charge in amplifying the sounds coming out of that era.

Now, you can access the tones that the influential artists of that decade brought to the masses with the Fender ‘68 Custom Pro Reverb and the ‘68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb.

1968 was a watershed year for music as well as Fender amplifiers. Known as the Silver Panel - era with its silver-and-turquoise graphics, aluminum “drip edge” around the grille cloth and tube driven power, they are the stuff of legends. The new ’68 Custom Vibro Champ and Pro Reverb take their cues from the original models but feature upgrades for today‘s player.

Guitarist Mason Stoops dove into the key features of these amps in the videos embedded in this article.

“The ‘68 Customs offer the sound and tonal flexibility that players of almost any style of music will enjoy,” Stoops said. “It works in so many situations and sounds and feels great.”

“The ‘68 Custom amps have become an extremely popular model series for guitarists who love the classic Fender tone and sound, but appreciate the tone modifications that work with today’s playing styles,” Stoops added. “Plus, they look pretty cool.”
