FENDER PRESENTS: MY CITY FEATURING ORACLE SISTERS

When Julia Johansen, Lewis Lazar and Christopher Willatt – the trio that makes up Oracle Sisters – first arrived in Paris, none of them were there with the specific intention of starting a band. Julia had been hired to act in a film and Chris and Lewis were going to run a cabaret. But fate intervened and these three creative forces found themselves drawn together, writing, recording and performing songs as the genre-spanning sensation Oracle Sisters.

Their combination of dreamy folk and stylish indie rock makes for a mesmerizing listen, reminiscent of Abba’s transporting pop-funk tinged with the Francophile sensibilities of Françoise Hardy, Jacques Brel and Serge Gainsbourg. Owing to their diverse influences and variety of sonic textures, their music is the perfect match for the vintage features and modern upgrades of Fender’s Limited Edition Vintera II Road Worn Series.

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Oracle Sisters in Paris for a conversation about their early days hanging out in little apartments, writing on acoustic instruments and how they embroidered upon that small-room intimacy by adding electric guitars and recruiting a full-band lineup. They then treated us to a special performance at the iconic La Frette studios, located just 15 minutes from the City of Love.

Check out the video to see Oracle Sisters play a transcendent version of their song “Marseille” from their 2025 album Divinations and see how they use the Limited Edition Vintera II Road Worn 60s Stratocaster, 50s Jazzmaster and 60s Telecaster to take their sound to new heights.
