Whether you're a fan of the stomping, bluesy roots of 1950s rock and roll, the psychedelic vibes of the '60s or the glammy disco and gut-punching punk of the '70s, there is a guitar that shaped the sounds of each decade.

And to celebrate those indelible moments, Fender launched the Vintera Series, a collection of instruments that pay homage to the magical tools that helped inspire the music of those eras.

To Mississippi-born guitarist Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, the Vintera Series brings him back to legendary bluesmen like Muddy Waters, B.B. King and Robert Johnson who inspired him as a child.

With the period-correct neck shapes, new pickups with decade-specific tones and a wide breadth of vintage colors - such as Seafoam Green and Sonic Blue - the Vintera Series can help artists like Ingram access the '50s in the modern era.

"I always try to keep the blues going forward without disrespecting the tradition," said Ingram. "I try to pull from all the old school cats while adding some type of modern elements from different genres of music, such as rock, a little bit of gospel, some R&B flavor, so I have one foot forward but one in the past as well.

To showcase the Vintera '50s Stratocaster, Ingram did just that, offering an updated take on the classic Screamin' Jay Hawkins tune "I Put a Spell on You"
