Hailing from the Isle of Wight, longtime friends Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers decided to come together and form a band in 2019.

Naming the upstart outfit Wet Leg, they very soon garnered the attention of critics and fans alike, breaking big around the world with their debut single, “Chaise Longue.”

That song proved to be the perfect promotion for their first album, a self-titled collection of 12 honest — and at many times humorous — tracks with hints of Britpop, post punk and indie rock that shot to the top of the charts in the United Kingdom and Australia.

“Chaise Longue” isn’t just the only hit to come off Wet Leg the record, as Teasdale and Chambers showcased in a new edition of Fender’s Player Plus Sessions.

In this episode, they offered fresh takes on three more singles, namely “Wet Dream,” “UR Mum” and “Oh No,” with their Player Plus Meteora HH and Player Plus Stratocaster HSS (in bright a Cosmic Jade finish) providing just the right amount of fuzz to compliment Teasdale’s cheeky lyrics.

The entire touring group — which includes Henry Holmes on drums, Ellis Durand on bass and Joshua Mobaraki on guitar and synths — also got together to talk about the origin of the music, from writing to break out of the boredom of the last two years to finding power in playing the guitar.

Considering Wet Leg is currently in the midst of a massive global tour, now’s the time to see them live. But in the meantime, you can watch them in action in the video above.
