'59 Bassman® LTD

Model : 217100
$1,949.99MSRP
In early 1952, the Fender® Bassman® amplified a great new invention - the Fender Precision Bass® guitar. At 50 watts, it competed easily with the common instrumentation of the day: horns, piano, small drum kit, and maybe even an electric guitar through a new 10-watt amp. Through the ’60s and ’70s, the original all-tube tweed 4x10” Bassman® was popular with rock, country and blues guitarists as a reliably great-sounding and easy-to-use guitar amp. In the ’90s, Fender released an affordable ’59 Bassman reissue amplifier to great acclaim. Many guitarists, tired of experimenting with preamps, equalizers and effects racks, rediscovered the simple pleasure of plugging into a Fender tube amp. The reissue Bassman’s wide stage coverage, touch-sensitive dynamics and full-frequency swirl make it perfect for building great tone with almost any guitar or effect, and it remains a staple of the Fender guitar amp line to this day.

I love my 59 bassman ltd. But only after I modified it extensively. Truthfully when it was new, it sounded broken. It may have been a manufacturer's defect. But being tech savvy, I completely reworked how it was grounded. Voiding the warranty, but I don't care about that. I believe the circuit board was actually laid out incorrectly. I rebuilt the tone stack and recapped it with capacitors closer to the original. Now I'm in love with it. I play everything through it. I crank it and the gain is great.

They got this one right from the beginning.Yes it is simple but it works it has great tone and a must have for any collection. The 4x10's move alot of air so it is great for larger venues. Not realy a bedroom amp.It can be a wram at lower volumes or a snarling animal at the highest volumes. It is also touch sensitive. You can place with the inputs and even jumer the inputs to achieve different tones.I like Fender Amps.I have hada few over the years but this one is a keeper in my colection. Go out and get one you will not be dissapointed.

This is a great easy-to-use amp. It sounds great on its own, just plug in and play. The sounds this amp produces are also enhanced by many different types of effects pedals. It is loud enough for most venues. I like the fact that fender has a card that comes with the amp, enabling you to get basic types of sounds as a starting point.
