The original was born in the '50s and produced the sound of bass. On the road, the more you punished a Precision Bass® guitar, the more it gave back as a virtually indestructible bass that took a beating and laughed while it asked for more, becoming even cooler looking and more comfortable-feeling than when it was brand-new. Fender's Road Worn® '50s Precision Bass delivers that aged look and feel. Designed with '50s specs, including a nitrocellulose-lacquer finish, and built to look, sound and feel like it's got more than just a few miles on it.

This bass is about as close to a Mexican as Clint Eastwood would be draped in a Mexican poncho (aka: "The Man With No Name" role he played in the spaghetti westerns of the 1960's). This MIM bass has the outer markings (serial number) indicating manufacture in Mexico but make no mistake, this is simply a "poncho" surrounding an American legend! The Road Worn P-Bass it is built to US specs using US components (pots, cap, hardware etc...& yes I opened it up). This is Fender's "top-of-the-line" MIM quality bass series which, IMHO, easily surpasses the "American Special" series with a lot more attention to detail at the same price point. This P-Bass has the look, and more importantly, the feel of well worn in bass (without the actual fret ware). Everything feels and sounds right and is totally not what you would expect from a MIM product. Everything about the bass screams craftsmanship and quality. Fantastic neck and fretwork. Pickups have surprising punch and growl. The "worn-in look" is natural and realistic looking with a very smooth "played over time" sort of ware (not abused). Bottom line...plays and feels like a top quality US made Fender bass with tons of character in both cosmetics and tone.

Best MIM bass I have ever played. It fully delivers the great P Bass experience of the late '50s. It FEELS like you are literally playing an old bass. And the sound is just awesome. The playability is wonderful… it's a joy to play! Very well set up. I hardly had to do anything to it. The aluminum pick guard rocks, and comes with holes drilled in it for pickup / bridge covers and a thumb rest. If you're struggling with the decision on getting this bass, let me convince you to go for it!!

So I went to my local guitar store wanting to get some strings and look at some basses and I found this bass. I have been wanting a p bass for a while now. So I got it plugged into an Orange Terror bass head and a 4x10 cab and I tuned it up and just played an easy riff in A minor and I was like...'DANG!' Since when did P-basses sound this good finger style! It just was clear but not then...plenty of booty and bottom end! I was like, 'Wow this really simple bass just sounds fantastic!' I even slapped it and it sounded really good! It was fun.
