Machete amps are unlike any that Fender has ever created—high-performance, high-gain, high-end tone machines that combine tube sound and highly distinctive cosmetics. Discerning guitarists and amp connoisseurs who are both meticulous and adventurous about even the finest details of their sound will find Machete amps to be formidable new members of the Fender family.
The 50-watt, dual-channel Machete combo boasts a completely new high-gain channel unlike anything ever seen on a Fender amp, with an extremely clear-sounding clean channel that can be pushed into aggressive rhythm guitar territory, and onboard digital reverb. Its heavily robust enclosure construction and single 12" Celestion® speaker deliver full, rich and pummeling response, with a midrange notch control, adjustable speaker damping for finely tuned performance, XLR output with switchable speaker muting and cabinet emulation, and push-pull pots for rhythm channel bright boost and gain boost. Distinctive cosmetics include black vinyl covering with white piping and gray vinyl "steering wheel grip" accents, new Black Silver Strand grille cloth, heavily knurled chrome knobs and all-new corners and hardware. Four-button footswitch and fitted cover included.

I purchased this amp from my local music store named Jenzen Bros. Music Co. and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Even the salesmen were excited to test this amp out when we took it out of the box. The cleans are sparkling and pure with the gain backed off, yet it can achieve some seriously punchy old school blues tones with the gain cranked up. Channel two is where things get fierce. You get a fire breathing tone that will leave your head spinning and your ears ringing. The tone is hard to describe as the EQ on both channels is amazingly versatile. You can really dial in your tone to your exact specifications. In one session I was able to get terrific rock and metal tones with minimal effort. Small adjustments really make huge differences. In short, this is an incredible amp that has taken everything I've thrown at it and I can't wait to take it on stage. This is my new tone.

Fender knows tube amps. This high gain version is fantastic! What I find is the amp has a very large sound, that its field of sound is wide for a one twelve. My Marshall JVM410 half stack has a very narrow sweet spot. Not something you like on stage. The Fender is very open live. The EQ, as many testers have mentioned, is almost spot on at twelve o'clock, and the controls are very responsive. The clean channel, typical Fender clean, but push the gain up a bit and you can get a nice blues tone. The high gain side is nothing short of amazing. I play hard rock to progressive metal and it sounds perfect, much like my JVM410, yet much easier to carry and transport. If you needed more sound there are the extension cabs. What I can't understand is why more places don't showcase it. I saw it at one store locally, Guitar Trader, but the only Guitar Center that had it was in Hollywood. It may be a bit pricy, but you can get a great deal on one. Don't let the sticker price scare you away. You must try one of these out. You won't be disappointed with the classic tone and modern features. It's a Fender, what else can I say.
