It's a Classic Player

I have owned this since 2010. I owned a '66 back in the day. Considering that the trem is closer to the bridge than the vintage RI models, Fender could have used a vintage style bridge which would work great as long as 10's or heavier strings are used. I have to agree that you need to put 11's on here to get a real vintage tone. Of course, a Twin Reverb, Showman, Super Reverb, or Piggy Back Bassman REALLY helps bring that tone out.

Very easy to play and has a variety of tones. My best advise is use a good tube amp, and let this guitar talk to you. I have Jaguars, teles, Strats, and even a LP. I always come back to my Jags. This one especially. (maybe because I don't want my expensive RI models stolen.) The build quality is excellent with a flawless paint job. Yeah, I spent the extra money and got a real case with amp logo for it to travel in. Vintage feel with a more modern 9.5 radius fingerboard. I love it.

I would have graded it better except for the Adjust-0-matic bridge. I would have preferred a vintage bridge.

My favorite guitar

I have a Deluxe Strat and a 52 Tele... but neither of those is is as much fun to play as this Jaguar. It's impossible not to pick it up and imagine your playing at a beach party in the 60's. The switching may look complicated at first - but perhaps no other instrument offers the versatility of a Jag. Flip the top switch up, and you have a smooth sound perfect for playing rhythm. Flip the switch down, crank up the reverb, and surfs up! The bridge design has deep grooves for each string and thus eliminate the potential problem of string slippage of the original Jaguar bridge. I just wish the height of each string was individually adjustable. The guitar comes equipped with 10's... but for that authentic sound and feel I immediately switched to 11's. I wish it had come with a case instead of the gig bag... and i had to apply neck oil to give it a smooth feel.. but for the price, it's great value!

Diversity of tones!

When you own a wild cat like that you have to handle with it carefully. At the beginning it requires lots of care and understanding. Once you give it to it, the Jaguar will pay you back with love, passion and diversity of tone. Of course after you find out what all these switches are for! :D Love my Jag!
