hey everyone. I live in Russia, Siberia, we play southern rock like The Almost band. I decided to buy this guitar as I often saw that many of my fav artists use it. Well first of all, I'd like to say that I've been sad a little when I played it for the first time through the big cab - it sounds not that way that I imagined. the second thing was the neck - not so comfortable for me. and the last thing is the price - in russia it cost around $1000 including shipping. oh, I forgot to say that my tele is mexican 2 years old, so maybe that's why I can't find any info of it by his serial number.

This guitar is awesome. I got it because I saw my favorite artist playing it. I bought and I really love it! It is nice. The one I have is a black one with rosewood fretboard. I love the sound and design!

Since I saw one of my favorite artists (Allison Band, of Mexico) playing with a Fender Telecaster, I wanted one! And well, I found this guitar on the internet, and i bought it... What happened later? I've fallen in love with this guitar! The Fender Blacktop Telecaster HH is Amazing! I've been playing this guitar only a few months, but i compare it with many of my guitars and nothing can change my opinion of this one. The tone of that HardRock and PunkRock that I can play with my Telecaster is incredible, and the classic cleans of Fender was there, I can play everything that I need, and I'm happy for that :) Totally recomended.

Great Guitar!

I've been playing electric guitar for over 40 years. The quality of guitars currently coming out of the Ensenada plant is really excellent. My Blacktop Telecaster is currently my main stage guitar. I also have a small collection of Gibson Les Paul Studios but Gibsons are vulnerable to head stock breakage. The Blacktop Telecaster covers a lot of Les Paul territory without the vulnerability issue but also has a unique character all its own. There are several video reviews of these guitars on Youtube that will give you a good idea of the sound, and of course you should play one yourself at a Fender dealer. You may well like it as much as I do mine..

BLACKTOPS RULE

I love this guitar. I mainly play metal on it and it got no problem nailing the really heavy tones I need on the bridge pickup and a really nice smooth and warm lead tone on the neck. I don't use clean too much, but when I do the guitar got no problem handling it on either of the 3 pickup positions. Overall I'd say there is no need to change the pickups in this guitar as they are high output and versatile enough to do anything / Tone 5 /

The playability was the main thing that made me want the guitar as the 1st time I played one it was unplugged and I loved that the neck plays like butter and the tummy cut makes it really comfortable by far one of the most comfortable guitars I have played. / Playability 5 /

The guitar just looks simply amazing. I got the silver one with the maple fingerboard and the finish is perfect. The neck fit to the pocket perfectly and feels like it was built to last. The only slight flaw in the design is the reversed control plate because of the fact I like going back and forth between the neck pickup and the bridge pickup in the middle of songs, and cause of the location of the switch its hard to go from the neck pick to the bridge cause the tone knob is in the way / Design 4 /

The features are good and to the point. The tuning keys are good and precise and stay in tune really well. The fixed bridge and string thru body give it good sustain. The pickups are amazing. Nothing seems low quality whatsoever. No fancy trem or locking tuners just how I like it - the bare essentials / Features 4 /

You just can't beat the value of this guitar. It's definitely the top in its price range and can probably beat higher priced guitars IMHO it's worth more then it is / Value 5 /

I'd say my next guitar will be another of the blacktop series. Fender really did a good job with these.

I bought this guitar to play metal on . The neck was comfy and the silver color was cool. The pickup in the bridge was hot and thick and the neck pickup was smooth . My guitar was very les pauly but with a snappyer pick attack do to longer scale. I play tuned down a step and it is a monster.

plays great, pickups are impressive. very versatile can play any style of music with ease. I would like to see Fender lose the pickguard and control plate, move 3 way selector up like on the EVH Wolfgangs and go with only a volume control.

Mine's the FSR with ash body in orange stain, rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets, Johnny Lang control plate, and anodized aluminum pick guard. Overall it has a really nice feel (with one exception, noted further on). It sounds good unplugged, and it sounds very good plugged into any of my amps that range from a 20W solid state, 5W Class A tube, Blues Junior, to Pignose 40W tube amp. I mostly play clean, and this guitar excels in clean tones, with a little bit of breakup when the volume is wide open, no overdrive/fuzz stomp box.

I'm not all that happy with the pick guard. The matte gold color doesn't look all that good to me, but the real issue is the way it feels. It has a rough finish that I can't get comfortable with. The plan is to swap it out for either a black or tortoise pickguard, which will have the right feel and will give it my personal appearance signature.

Over all this guitar is an incredible value for the price. To my ears it sounds as good as others costing much more. Plus, the FSR features (fingerboard, Johnny Lang switching) make it very distinctive in both looks and playability.
