When Jimmy Eat World guitarist and frontman Jim Adkins collaborated with Fender in designing his perfect guitar, the result was his signature JA-90 Telecaster® Thinline guitar. Fender craftsmen sat down with Adkins and went over his old Fender TC-90 spec by spec, making several important changes that subsequently produced this unique model. Features include a maple neck set into a semi-hollow ash body, Seymour Duncan® soap-bar pickups, independent volume and tone controls, Adjusto-Matic™ bridge and anchored tailpiece. Sweetness …

I've played many guitars so far in my life, and this one is easily one of the best. I'm typically more of a fan of gibson styles, but this guitar caught my eye. The look and overall feel (even though it's a tele) is very similar of that of a Les Paul Jr.. The natural and transparent finishes are some of the best I've ever seen! (I've played the natural and own the red) The pickups are great too, I'm not usually a single coil fan but these p90s bite unlike any single coils I've ever played. It's also great that they are HUM-FREE!!! This guitar is really unique and is one of the most comfortable, good looking, versatile instruments I've ever owned. Highly recommend to anyone. I even would like a second one to experiment with different p90s!

I've owned a whole heck of a lot of guitars in my day, all types of brands, sizes, shapes...smells? But never did I ever think I would find a guitar that would be the end-all for me. The guitar that says "oh, you don't need another guitar, there is no other guitar, nothing compares to me." Then, I ordered this bad boy. Sure, it had a flaw with the input jack, but Fender has a warranty to cover such things.
Other than that, this guitar is the best guitar to ever happen to me. The tone is magical, the playability is off the charts, and the style is so attractive, you might buy it a drink before you play it. I really dig it; all seriousness. I can only think of one other guitar that I'd want to get after the Crimson Red one I own... and that's the natural finish JA90. There's no going back.
If, for some reason, Jim wanted to go maple fretboard one day, well, I wouldn't complain, I love this guitar, you will too. If you like the sound of guitars, like playing guitars, know that there's something called a guitar that exists, then this guitar is for you!

I love this guitar , the only drawback is it weighs a good bit more than a "69" thinline , but still far less than a Les Paul. Love the neck on this guitar.
I like the extra fret for certain songs, but because of the weight my "69" thinline is my favorite tele.

Taking into account several reviews i saw online i decided to get the guitar directly in a store, took a good look at the guitar, played for a couple of minutes and took it home...
now this is not a very versatile guitar, i uses vintage P90s wich means HUM but thats part of its design, as well as the feedback at high gain distortion since is also a semi hollow body but those aren't flaws in the design, are part of it, which makes it the guitar it is...
So, the sound of these pickups is amazing, after changing the strings and set up to .10 strings which i do for all my guitars, the sound is all i hoped for before and more, so smooth and alive, lot of twang, lot of blues and rock out of this guitar.
The finish is great, not incredible great, just great specially for a "asian fender that costs less than 1000$". which is what this guitar is, so its not a gold coin that will be loved by everyone, but if you know what you are looking for and it is a BLUES-ROCK guitar, the telecaster body and feel with the soul o an early les paul, then this is a great guitar to complement your set of guitars. Great TELEGIB!!!

This guitar ships without a case, so do yourself a big favor and get a case for it right away. It is worth protecting. I had my doubts about getting a guitar made in Indonesia but I have to say I'm impressed with the quality of the one that I got. Other than changing the strings, this guitar was close to perfect out of the box. Maybe It's just the luck of the draw considering the experience that schwerve had. The action was right on. The tone from the P90 SD pups is real sweet. I've played it through many different amp and PA set-ups and everyone who hears it is amazed at the different tones I can get from this guitar. A little adjusting on the volume and tone knobs, switch the pup settings around and you can dial in just about any sound you want. Very versatile instrument. Like I said, maybe I just got lucky but this is now the guitar that I use most even though I own guitars that cost 4 times as much. It looks, plays, and sounds fantastic. The finish is gorgeous. A Telecaster/Les Paul Hybrid.

I purchased this guitar online because I love the Thinline body style and the trans-red finish looks great. I wish I would have played one first. The factory set-up was horrible with fret buzz all over the neck. I had to raise action quite a bit and tweak the neck to get rid of most of it, although some is still present. The build quality overall feels cheap which is not a shock since it built in Indonesia, but I expected better for the price. The PU's sound OK and work well on certain amps ('68 Bandmaster sounds fantastic), but with most amps the sound is just OK. If you can find one for a great price and don't mind putting in a bit of work however, it is worth picking up
