DURATION: The Pete Wentz Squier® P Bass® Guitar and Fender® TB-600C Amplifier Giveaway (the "Contest") begins December 15, 2008 and ends May 15, 2009.
ELIGIBILITY: Employees of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.(the Sponsor) or any of its subsidiaries, affiliates or agencies, or members of their immediate families, or persons living in same household of each, are not eligible to enter or win. Entrants under sixteen (16) years old must obtain parental consent before entering the contest. Such consent may be given via e-mail or regular mail to the Sponsor, which consent will be confirmed by the Sponsor. Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted by law. PRIZES: One grand prize winner will receive a Squier® Pete Wentz P Bass® guitar and a Fender® TB 600C amplifier. Though real world value of this instrument is difficult to gauge, the retail price on this prize on this is $2,479.98.
Prize(s) is(are) nontransferable. All taxes and shipping expenses associated with the redemption of the prize(s) are the responsibility of the winner(s).
ENTRY: Entries must be submitted online at www.fender.com. Alternatively, entrants may send a self-addressed stamped postcard (WA & VT residents may omit return postage) with the entrant's first and last name, address, age, parental consent if necessary, and telephone number to the Sponsor at the address below. Online entries must be received on or before 11:59 p.m. EST, May 15, 2009. Post card entries must be postmarked by May 8, 2009 and received by May 15, 2009. Only one entry per person is permitted. Online entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of registration. The Winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete entries, system errors and failures, faulty transmissions, or other telecommunications malfunctions. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate or suspend the online promotion should any unauthorized intervention or other cause beyond the control of the Sponsor affect the administration or proper play or conduct of the promotion. By entering this Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor.
WINNER: The Winner(s) will be selected via a random drawing held on May 18, 2009. Odds of winning depend upon the total number of entries received. The Winner(s) will be notified by e-mail or by phone. Undeliverable prize notification or failure to respond to prize notification within 7 days will result in forfeiture of the prize. In the event of prize forfeiture by a Winner, an alternative Winner may be awarded the prize. Sponsor reserves the right to revise dates and procedures mentioned in these rules. The Winner's name will be posted on the www.fender.com web site.
RESERVATIONS: By submitting an online entry, each entrant agrees to create a Fender Profile and have his or her e-mail address put on Fender's E-Mail News mailing list. The Winner, by submitting an entry, grants permission to have his or her name, city, photograph and/or likeness used in any manner the Sponsor may deem appropriate for advertising, trade and/or promotional purposes without additional compensation, including without limitation, posting the Winner's name on the www.fender.com web site, unless prohibited by law. The Winner, by acceptance of a prize, agrees to release the Sponsor, or any of its subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies, directors, officers, agents or employees from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for any damage, loss or injury resulting from or arising out of participation in this Contest, the acceptance, use, misuse, possession, loss or misdirection of any prize, downloading or sending any sweepstakes materials, or any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of any prize. The Winner must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release prior to receiving the prize. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Contest if the Contest becomes technically corrupted in any manner and to select the Winner by random drawing of all eligible entries received prior to the corruption.
POST CARD ENTRIES: Entry here online is preferred — however, the giveaway may also be entered by sending a post card to the Sponsor at the address below. Post card must include entrant's first and last name, address, age, parental consent if necessary, and telephone number. Be sure to note that entering via this method does not in any way increase one's chances of winning.

NOT A U.S. RESIDENT?
To the loyal FENDER® fans around the world: as you've no doubt noticed, Fender USA is currently offering this online promotion only to U.S. residents. To avoid any misunderstanding, please allow us to explain the reason for this limitation.

We should begin by stating the obvious. FENDER understands and appreciates that it has many loyal fans located outside of the United States. We also know that these fans want to participate in promotions just as much as the FENDER fans who live within the United States.

With that said, we would like to encourage guitarists outside of the United States to make use of the "International" link at Fender.com, and use it to look for contests and promotions that are being offered by our worldwide Fender locations and international distributors.

Unfortunately, however, even though we at Fender USA would like to make our contests available to everyone throughout the world, there are other factors that prevent us from being able to do so.

For example, there are a variety of local and national laws that companies are expected to comply with each and every time they conduct a contest like the one FENDER is currently running. FENDER makes sure that it complies with the applicable state and federal laws in the United States, but it would be virtually impossible to determine what the applicable laws are in each state, province and country throughout the world, and then ensure that our contests comply with such laws.

Additionally, some nations around the world simply do not want foreign countries operating contests in their homeland, and for that, there is nothing we can do. While we would like to open our contests to FENDER players across the globe, we hope you can understand that despite our best efforts, we just cannot do that.

Even though you are not eligible to participate in the current Fender USA contest, you may be eligible to participate in contests offered by our global websites, and we encourage you to check back often for updates. We appreciate your understanding with regards to our contest limitations and value your loyalty.
