FENDER® EMPLOYEES ‘BAND’ TOGETHER TO RAISE MONEY FOR MUSIC EDUCATION
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Oct. 19, 2011) — Fender is proud to announce the latest Fender Band Jam concert to be held on Friday, Oct. 28, from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Compound Grill. This benefit event costs $5 and will feature live musical performances by Fender employees. Raffle tickets will be sold all night for $5 to give patrons a chance to win a variety of prizes including musical memorabilia (signed Mick Fleetwood photos) and FMIC instruments raffled between performances.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Fender Music Foundation. This charity is devoted to providing resources for underfunded music programs across the U.S. The event will include performances by a variety of musicians, a Southwestern cuisine and the opportunity to participate in a costume contest. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a one-of-a-kind American Fender Stratocaster® guitar painted by renowned Wisconsin artist, Sara Gallenberger, and a limited edition Telecaster® guitar autographed by rock legend, and famous Phoenician, Alice Cooper. These unique Fender instruments will be on display at the Compound Grill prior to the event. All are welcome to bid on these guitars; they are on eBay from October 18 through October 28. Links to these auctions will be featured on www.fendermusicfoundation.org.
The event will also feature a musical guest performance by award-winning singer-songwriter Kirsten Proffit from Burbank, Calif. Other artists performing include I.D.K., the Saucy Jacks, the Nameless Prophets, Joyworld, the Big Fellah’s, and a rare appearance by the 2009 winners of Fender’s International Band Jam contest – Big Tex & The Blazin’ Pintos.
The Compound Grill is located on the northeast corner of 68th St. and Mayo Blvd. (7000 E. Mayo Blvd., Building 21, in Phoenix, Ariz.). It features live music nightly, as well as health-minded Southwestern dining. For more information and to make reservations, go to www.thecompoundgrill.com.
