I’ve had my Blacktop Tele (black/maple) for almost 2 weeks now. I’ve spent a fair bit of time getting acqainted with the first electric guitar I’ve purchased in a long time. I’ve played a Les Paul Studio (’92) for years.

The neck on the tele is absolutely georgious..smooth as glass…very nice indeed. I had to work on some intonation issues when I first got it home. I also noticed some slippage; but that’s improving as the 10′s I put on settle into the nut.

I’ve read some people commenting on the muddyness of the pick ups. I’ve noticed that I have to leave both volume and tone @ 10 or I too experience immediate loss of tone. Can anyone tell me if this is due to the quality of the pickups; or would replacing the volume/tone controls help?
