If Duff McKagan wasn’t already one of my favorite people (a musician who also writes about the NFL – DUH!), this video below would have solidified things.
But first, the back story.
Last week, the former Guns N’ Roses bassist/current member of Velvet Revolver and Loaded appeared at Seattle University for a book signing of his new autobiography, It’s So Easy and Other Lies. As the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported, that’s when McKagan got a question about whether Kurt Cobain seemed depressed before his 1994 suicide.
(Days before the suicide, McKagan shared a Seattle-bound flight with Cobain, who had just left a rehab center in Southern California.
“We talked,” McKagan recently told VH1. “We were both sort of in the same boat. A couple guys recognizing where each other was at. It’s no fun being that completely and utterly addicted.”)
So, apparently this well-known conspiracy theorist, who is notorious for claiming that Cobain’s suicide was actually a murder, decided to inquire about Cobain’s mental state during the Q&A session at the book signing.
