Watch Pete Yorn's New Video for "Sans Fear"

If you haven’t seen it already, check out Pete Yorn’s new video for “Sans Fear” from his eponymous album, which hit the shelves in late September. In the video, Yorn strolls the beach with a metal detector, encountering pirates, lost treasures (we wonder if he’ll ever get all that sand out of his Fender guitar), mermaids in distress and even Splash actress Darryl Hannah sans tail.  We especially love how his Fender Mustang pops so vividly against the cloudy beach day.

For this fifth studio album, Yorn enlisted Pixies frontman Frank Black as his producer.

“Pete told me he wanted to better define himself as an artist,” said Black. “I think he just wanted to rock out. But as we headed down a path of realization I stripped him down a whole bunch. We battled in the best sort of way. I tried to get the session into a fearless and raw place, and to his artistic credit Pete took his songwriting to a fearless and raw place. This listener will find his or herself sitting right next to Pete on the couch. And the record totally rocks out.”

And lastly, tune in tonight to Jay Leno to see Yorn perform live.
