Watch Lissie Perform "Oh Mississippi"

Singer-songwriter Lissie gets much of her inspiration from her childhood in Illinois, where she grew up along the banks of the Mississippi River. In this Fender Live performance below of “Oh Mississippi,” she and her band pay tribute to those roots.

Lissie recently announced plans for her first set of new material since 2010′s breakout full-length Catching a Tiger. On Nov. 8, fans can expect Covered Up With Flowers, a five-song EP featuring covers ranging from hip-hop to metal, all done in her unique styling.

Tracklisting:

1. Pursuit Of Happiness (Kid Cudi cover)
2. Bad Romance (Lady Gaga cover)
3. Games People Play (Joe South cover)
4. Nothing Else Matters (Metallica cover)
5. The Ship Song (Nick Cave cover)

very well crafted video… great song structure and arrangment by all three artists…

just the right amount of harmony and lead/rhythm g’tar embellishment…

bass was perfectly subtle and corresponded quite nicely with the tenor of the song…

Sounds good. Why isn’t her guitarist playing on his Gibson goldtop?

Definately country soul vocal – nice. A couple of spots seemed to sound like the Strat was slighty out of tune – maybe it’s just me. Added bonus that Lissie is quite the looker!
