U2 Introduce First Song from their Broadway Musical

This morning on Good Morning America, U2’s Bono and Edge introduced “Boy Falls From the Sky,” the first song from their Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Broadway musical.

Bono and Edge, who joined the Good Morning America show via satellite from France, discussed what interested them about the Broadway musical and how things came together.

“There’s always been a thing in rock and roll and punk rock with comics,” said Bono. “It’s gone back a while, but I think we’re interested in it because it’s a really quintessential New York story, and we’re all kind of wanna-be New Yorkers. It’s not so serious, but post-9/11, this idea of everyone being capable of being a hero caught our imaginations.”

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark will begin its preview performances on Nov. 14 with the show officially opening on Dec. 21. Tickets for the performances go on sale starting tomorrow.
