Take a look below at Train’s newest music video for single “If It’s Love,” directed by Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz.
In it, Train shows fans what they were up to during their “much needed break.” The footage is obviously a parody since we know there’s no way guitarist Jimmy Stafford would ever consider pawning his custom blue ‘63 Relic Telecaster® guitar.
“Our old producer, Brendan O’Brien, had this great Tele® that was gifted to him by Dean DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots,” says Stafford of the story behind his custom Tele. “For three albums I used that Tele in the studio, but Brendan wouldn’t sell it to me. Bruce Springsteen also made a couple of albums with Brendon and played that Tele, and he loved it, too. Brendan wouldn’t sell it to him either, and so Bruce and I both had Fender make us duplicates. I’ve got two; one with a Bigsby® tremolo tailpiece and one without, and I love those guitars. They’re definitely go-to guitars.”
Gear heads may also note that Train is using a pair of ’65 Deluxe Reverb® amps in the video.
