Thenewno2 began their fall tour with Wolfmother on Thursday night at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas. Tonight, they’ll take the stage at Stubbs Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas, one of the shows that singer/guitarist Dhani Harrison told Fender News he’s particularly looking forward to playing.
“I love Austin,” he said. “The Wiltern in Los Angeles (Nov. 24) will be fun because that’s homecoming. We play in Boston too, which will be great because my friends at Harmonix will be there. I’m just looking forward to playing new places and seeing how it goes.”
Thenewno2’s debut album You Are Here hit stores in March 2009. The entire album was written, produced and performed by Harrison and Oliver Hicks. Hicks however, is not touring this fall since he’s currently busy doing some film work.
“We have a good friend of ours from our sort of brother band, Frank Zummo who is a lovely, lovely guy and he’s standing in for Oli,” explained Harrison. “There’s been so many different people in the band, but it’s not like Oli is one of those people who has just come through the band for awhile. Oli and I planned the design together and the company thenewno2 is very much–we’re like yin and yang. He’s very much the heart of it as well. He will no doubt return for the next album.”
Michael Schulz of our artist relations team spent some time in Los Angeles with thenewno2 during rehearsals. Here’s a few of his photos:
