Welsh-raised, London-based pop-rock trio the Joy Formidable, led by singer Ritzy Bryan (above), is continuing their U.S. trek to after killing it at the SXSW music festival in Austin mid-March. (Tour dates here.)
“When the Joy Formidable aim for the hilltops, they get there,” wrote Pitchfork of one of their SXSW showcases. “The Welsh power trio excel at stadium-bound alternarock anthems, pounding out fist-pump choruses and clap-along rhythms like a group with multi-platinum records under their belts, rather than just one recently released album and an EP.”
See for yourself in this set for NPR, featuring songs from recent debut album The Big Roar.
