There isn’t much to say about the Aquabats that hasn’t been said already. The ska-punk version of the Justice League are back on this year’s Warped Tour, and like always, followed through with their rousing amount of entertainment and enthusiasm during a Thursday set at Quail Run Park in Mesa, Ariz.
Mosh pits were in full effect to the Aquabats’ anthems “Pizza Day,” “Super Rad” and “Pool Party,” along with the newer “The Shark Fighter,” which is well on its way to becoming a summer theme song.
Midway through their set, the self-proclaimed super heroes didn’t shy away from their roles as crime fighters when a menacing Pizza Man overtook the stage. Clearly planned, this playful gimmick was a great way to cheer up and excite concertgoers fighting their own battle with 112-degree weather.
At an event full of hardcore and metal acts, the Aquabats humorous stage presence was the perfect way to escape and brighten up the day.
Be sure to catch the Aquabats as they come through your town on Vans Warped Tour.
