The Almost's Aaron Gillespie Visits Haiti

Aaron Gillespie, the frontman for The Almost and former drummer for Underoath made a new friend in fellow music lover during his recent trip to Haiti with Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and Samaritan’s Purse. Gillespie and the blind man in the photo above jammed together in an earthquake damaged cathedral. After learning that the gentleman had been playing the same guitar for the last 50 years, Gillespie decided to part ways with his Malibu™ SCE. Watch the exchange between the two here.

Gillespie also traveled to Uganda with his wife last year to do mission work, which inspired his first solo worship album, Anthem Song, due out on March 8.

“I really thought I was just going with her and being a good husband; I wasn’t called to the mission field,” Gillespie says in an article on the BGEA website. I thought I would just go and help out and see what it was. But it changed our entire existence as a married couple. It changed the entire face of our ministry. It changed everything.”
