Surfer Severson Signs Sonoran™ Acoustics

Surfer Severson Signs Sonoran Acoustics

Here are a couple of candid shots of surf guru and publisher John Severson—the man behind Fender’s new John Severson Sonoran™ SCE acoustic guitar models—signing two of the guitars during an art show at the Surf Gallery in Laguna Beach, Calif., on Sept. 27, 2008.

Two lucky winners rode off that evening with the guitars; Fender California Series dreadnought acoustic models introduced in fall 2008 and featuring Severson’s “Surf Fever” and “Woody” graphic designs inspired by the surf posters and imagery of yesteryear.

At the event, Severson also signed posters and showed new watercolors and sketches.

For added mojo, former Chantays (“Pipeline”)/Belairs (“Mr. Moto”)/Surfaris (“Wipeout”) guitarists Gil Orr and Paul Johnson—billed as the Duo-Tones—played classic surf songs on the guitars before the instruments were given away.
