While the Fender Stratocaster has been tweaked since its inception, the legendary guitar recently received high praise from MusicRadar.
“When it was launched in 1954, the Fender Stratocaster looked so far ahead of its time it could have fallen from a flying saucer,” wrote Ed Mitchell.
As Mitchell notes, Stratocasters have helped create many iconic musical moments, from Jimi Hendrix playing “The Star-Spangled Banner” in ’69 to Hank Marvin of The Shadows playing the first U.K.-imported Strat in ’61.
