Earlier this month, Bruce Springsteen was one of five recipients bestowed with the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors.
Stars and politicians (including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama) attended the Dec. 6 event in Washington D.C. to honor Springsteen, Robert DeNiro, Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck and Grace Bumbry.
Singers John Mellencamp, Ben Harper, Jennifer Nettles, Melissa Etheridge, Eddie Vedder and Sting paid tribute specifically to The Boss by taking the stage and singing Springsteen hits.
Hosted by Caroline Kennedy, the tribute finally aired last night on CBS. Video clips from the evening have since shown up on You Tube, including the one below of Sting’s performance of “The Rising,” backed by a gospel choir.
