Stars Come Out to Honor George Jones

With the recent passing of George Jones, the Grand Ole Opry House was packed on Thursday with luminaries who turned out to remember the legendary country singer and thousands of friends and family in attendance.

Former Tennessee governor Mike Huckabee took the podium to share a few lesser-known stories about Jones, as well as former first lady Laura Bush.  From the music side of the aisle, Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker, Brad Paisley, the Oak Ridge Boys, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Kenny Chesney, Charlie Daniels and Travis Tritt were just a few of the names who either performed or spoke in honor of Jones.

“He was more than a country singer, he was a country song,” said Face the Nation moderator Bob Schieffer.
