Much to the delight of Rush fans worldwide, the Canadian rock band Rush has finally earned a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination.
Rush has 22 consecutive gold records, and is fourth behind the Beatles, Stones, and Kiss in all-time gold records for a band. Fourteen of those albums have gone platinum.
“We are honoured to be among the nominees for this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” the band said in a statement posted on their official website. “We are especially thrilled for the many, many dedicated Rush fans to whom this nomination is so very important.”

The 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Thursday, April 18, 2013. The show will be broadcast on HBO at a later date.
