In talking about guesting on Ray Davies’ “Postcards from London” during a recent phone interview, Pretenders Chrissie Hynde commented to me,”Whose going to say no to Ray Davies?”
Apparently not New Jersey icons Bruce Springsteen or Jon Bon Jovi. Both joined Davies in the studio in January to redo a couple of Kinks classics. According to an article by Lisa Rose on nj.com, Springsteen jammed with Davies on “Better Things,” while Bon Jovi pitched in to record “Celluloid Heroes.”
Other artists taking part in Davies’ project include the Killers, Lucinda Williams and possibly Metallica.
