Radiohead Donates Signed 'Kid A' Tele For Charity Auction

To raise money for the Billie Butterfly fund, Radiohead has donated a Fender Telecaster that guitarist Ed O’Brien played on the band’s early-2000s albums Kid A and Amnesiac.

Signed by all five members of Radiohead, the guitar comes with a handwritten note from O’Brien.

The note reads:

To whoever ends up with this Tele…

It was bought in the summer of ’98, just prior to us going into record the albums which came out as Kid A and Amnesiac. It was pretty much the only guitar I used at that time. It’s also been gigged a lot, up until and including the In Rainbows tour.

Hope you enjoy it – all the best

Ed O’Brien

Any and all proceeds from the ebay auction will benefit the Billie Butterfly Fund, a trust dedicated to raising money for 4-year-old Billie Bainbridge, who was diagnosed with an inoperable form of brain stem cancer in July.

The auction doesn’t end until November 13, but the bidding is already up to £6,000.00!
