Over the past few years, Phoenix has ridden their 2009 album of infectious pop-rock – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix – hooks to the very heights of the popularity scale.
Since it’s release, they’ve been ubiquitous on the talk-show and festival circuit, earning a Grammy along the way.
This week, fans can get a look behind the scenes of that success with the debut of a 52-minute documentary that stylishly chronicles their massive Wolfgang world tour.
Dubbed From a Mess to the Masses, the rock doc is co-directed by Francisco Soriano and Antoine Wagner, who directed Phoenix’s “Liztomania” video.
As this trailer reveals, it will feature live concert footage and sweeping visuals of clapping crowds to balance backstage intimacy.
At this point, there’s no word on a U.S. release date, although it will air Thursday in France and Germany on Arte TV at 10 p.m. CET.
