Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Taylor York told MTV News last Friday at the Z100 Jingle Bell red carpet that they plan to take a break in the new year to write their next album.
“The year has kind of been topped,” said York. “We don’t have much more for the rest of this year. We’re going on a tour in South America and then we’re taking time off and we’re writing for a new record. We’re kind of at the end of this record (Brand New Eyes) but it’s bittersweet.”
According to Williams, the album will primarily be written back home in Tennessee.
“We wrote ‘Decode’ [while on tour] … we didn’t expect it and then everything happened with that one and so that was good,” she said. “We like to do it at home mostly. We like to wait and kind of really focus on the records when we have time off.”
Paramore recently paid their respects to the military by participating in VH1′s Divas Salute the Troops. Their performance included a cover of the Foo Fighters’ 1998 rock classic “My Hero.”
“We played for the troops last night in Kuwait,” wrote Williams in a Paramore web blog. “What a humbling experience.”
