New Trailer for Foo Fighters’ Sonic Highways

Foo Fighters have released a new star-studded trailer for their upcoming HBO series, Sonic Highways, which documents the recording of their latest album (also titled Sonic Highways). The Foo’s eighth album (Nov. 10) is an eight-song effort recorded in eight different studios in eight different cities.

Steve Albini, the Beastie Boys’ Mike D, Chuck D, Buddy Guy, LL Cool J, Joan Jett, Macklemore, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, President Barack Obama, Rick Rubin, Carrie Underwood, Butch Vig and many more appear in the new trailer, which is narrated by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

“This is a musical map of America,” Grohl says in the clip, which includes mention of Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, D.C., and New York and the various musical genres associated with those cities.

The show Sonic Highways debuts on HBO on Friday, Oct. 17 at 11 p.m. EST.
