Muppets To Cover 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'

The Muppets are set to cover Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in their upcoming movie.

Hitting theaters Nov. 23, the eponymous film will have a blockbuster soundtrack, so what better way to bolster the offerings than with one of the biggest hits ever?

Sadly, Dr. Teeth and his band actually aren’t going to be the ones covering theĀ Nevermind single, as that job is going to the Muppets Barbershop Quartet.

But, former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighters everyman Dave Grohl will make a cameo appearance, sitting in for Animal, who, as a plot point, has to attend an anger management course.

Cee Lo Green’s No. 1 “Forget You” will also get cover treatment, while Brett McKenzie of Flight of the Chonchords will reportedly pen four original tunes.
