With Mick Jagger stepping up as host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live, the historic taste-making program put together some lofty pairings for Jagger’s backing band.
First, Jagger teamed with Arcade Fire to perform “The Last Time,” before joining Jeff Beck to perform the new politically-charged song “Tea Party.”
Jagger also did a Rolling Stones medley with the Foo Fighters, knocking out “19th Nervous Breakdown” and “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll (But I Like It).”
“Playing with Mick Jagger on SNL was everything you’d want it to be,” said Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett. ”He’s a charming English gentleman until you put a mic in his hand, and then he turned into an animal. It was one of the greatest nights of my life”
