Levi’s Vintage Clothing Hot Rod Exhibition Begins Worldwide Tour

To celebrate their Spring 2013 collection, Levi’s Vintage Clothing teamed up with Fender on a series of one-of-a-kind items, namely a replica 1957 Stratocaster built and reliced by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder John Cruz.

The whole exhibition is set to be shown around the world with stops in New York City, London, Berlin and Tokyo along with 35 unique “Kustom Monster” sweatshirts hand-painted by legendary designer Von Franco.  The exhibit was recently front and center at the Inspiration vintage culture event hosted by Rin Tanaka, who is behind the My Freedamn men’s lifestyle book series.  Over 9,000 enthusiasts walked through the doors.

As inspiration for this collaborative design project, Fender and Levi’s thought about GIs returning home from WWII with a desire to hot-rod their cars, clothes and instruments to perform better and look cooler.
