Kaiser Chiefs Take Stage At Cedar Street

Kaiser Chiefs brought a frenetic set to the courtyard stage at FILTER Magazine‘s Showdown at Cedar Street on Thursday, rocking their riot anthems at the South by Southwest music festival.

At this mid-point of the day, the crowd was sun-drenched and possibly buzzed.

Perfect for these British new wave punkers.

“Ruby,” a single that reached No. 1 in the U.K. off the Chiefs’ second album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob, had everyone in attendance singing word-for-word.

That continued with a searing “I Predict A Riot” from 2005′s Employment.

Kaiser Chiefs played some new stuff too, having put out The Future Is Midieval and Start The Revolution Without Me over the past two years.

In fact, singer Ricky Wilson even said, “This is a showcase of new music, so that’s what we’re gonna do. ┬áNone of you will know this, so sit back and enjoy it.”

Old or new, it was obvious that this Cedar Street audience did just that.
