The fact that Johnny Depp plays guitar is pretty common knowledge. One only has to check out his jam session with the Black Keys at last year’s MTV Movie Awards to see that he’s got some chops.
But Depp recently showed off his skills with the slide in an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Depp sat in with Bill Carter and The Blame for their track “Anything Made of Paper,” which was written for Damien Echols of the West Memphis Three. Depp has supported Echols’ cause fervently.
(Echols and two friends were freed in 2011 after spending more than 18 years on death row for being wrongfully convicted of murdering three young boys in Arkansas.)
Depp and Carter were actually in a band together in the early 1990s called, simply, P. They released one eponymous album in 1995.
