Hunter Hayes Breaks Guinness World Record

Country star Hunter Hayes recently embarked on a journey to set a Guinness World Record for the most concerts played in multiple cities, and he accomplished his goal in amazing fashion.

Dubbed the 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger, Hayes played 10 shows in 10 cities in under a full day’s time, bouncing from New York city to venues in Boston, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Hayes’ record beat the previous mark set by the Flaming Lips, who performed eight shows in 24 hours as part of the 2012 O Music Awards.

“I cannot believe how much fun this whole day has been and that it’s only been a day! Ten shows in 24 hours with the best fans in the world and a great cause with Child Hunger Ends Here,” Hayes said in a statement. “I’m so proud to get to work with them and all the sponsors. Thank you to all the fans for not only making history with us but also making this whole thing absolutely awesome!”

His quest also coincided with the release of his sophomore full-length album Storyline.
