The Hope for Haiti charity concert, organized by actor George Clooney, will air live on nearly all major television networks tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and 7:00 p.m. CT.
Haitian-born singer Wyclef Jean will co-host the show from New York, with Clooney presenting from Los Angeles. More than 100 celebrities are reportedly participating in the evening, including live performances in New York by Madonna, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Sting, John Legend, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder.
“We’re gonna have 18 songs, and you’re gonna get to hear Jennifer Hudson sing a song you never heard her sing before,” revealed Clooney to MTV. “John Legend is singing ‘Motherless Child’; it’s just great. We’re gonna have some amazing performances.”
The show will also take viewers to London, where Jay-Z and Rihanna will team with U2’s Bono and Edge to perform “Stranded.” For more background on “Stranded,” expected to be subtitled “Haiti Mon Amour” or “Haiti Mi Amore,” click here.
