Guitar Aficionado Features Rare 1971 Thinline Telecaster

The September/October issue of Guitar Aficionado magazine features a stunning, ultra-rare Burgundy Mist 1971 Thinline Telecaster with a pearloid pickup. The instrument (pictured above) belongs to guitar collector David Davidson of New York’s We Buy Guitars. Davidson told Guitar Aficionado that the instrument was purchased from a collector who had more than six Thinlines in ultra-rare, off-the-color-chart finishes.

The magazine also details the history behind the model, which was born as a result of German luthier Roger Rossmeisl’s artistry and response to a shortage of lightweight ash in the 1960s.
