Foster the People Play Hometown Set on Kimmel

The Los Angeles-based band Foster the People recently stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform a few of their new tracks off Supermodel, which we tabbed as our Album Pick of the Month in March.

What made Supermodel stand out as a sophomore effort was how Foster the People expanded on their electro-pop sound with different influences.

Whether it is more guitars, West African rhythms, or even disco, Supermodel took some pleasantly-surprising turns.

On “Are You What You Want to Be?” Foster the People added a calypso beat while frontman Mark Foster sang about waking up “on Champs-Élysées to the Djembe of Ghana.”  The track “Best Friend” carried a disco flavor that is definitely ready for the dance floor.

During Kimmel, both of those tracks made an appearance, and you can watch them below.
