Guitarist, the longest established guitar magazine in the UK, recently ventured out to the 2011 Frankfurt Musikmesse fair to bring the latest news on the most cutting-edge music gear to their June edition.
Fender’s all-new Pawn Shop Series guitars, deemed “marvelous mash-ups” by Guitarist made the top five. Indeed, the Pawn Shop Fender ’51, Fender ’72 and Mustang® Special were designed with the adventurous spirit in mind while still preserving the classic Fender essence.
“This new trio of electrics mix and matches retro features in an attempt to create the vibe of the mongrel guitars lurking at the back of pawn shops in days gone by,” notes the magazine.
Also making the list is the Fender Super-Sonic Twin amp & head. Guitarist magazine says that the new Super-Sonic “ups the power from the current 60-watt model and fittingly changes its clean channel modes to Twin Reverb and Bassman.” Another feature they considered worthy is the Arena/Club switch (100/25 watts), a new notch filter that provides increased mid-range control and a three-position speaker damping control.

Makes me leery when they don’t post the country of origin. Are they made in Mexico or China. They would surely brag if they were made in the US.
