Fender Kicks Off Grammys With Wammys Party

Wammys3
Last year, the Wammys party at St. Nick’s in Los Angeles marked an excellent way to celebrate the Grammys in a big way, with many Hollywood luminaries enjoying the chilled-out vibe of the festivities.

The second annual Wammys definitely kicked that up another notch. Hosted by Dhani Harrison’s Hot Record West, Fender and boutique public relations agency Big Hassle, things heated up early. ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons chilled out in a booth as the evening got started and the karaoke line began to build, while other heavy hitters in the music industry streamed through the door lined with a stack of Fender amps.

Also in attendance were the Cult’s Billy Duffy; Jeff Tremaine and Chris Pontius of the Jackass crew; Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers; Strung Out’s Chris Aiken; Black Rebel Motorcycle Club; punk legends Wayne Kramer, Ron Emory and Jonny Two Bags; and Gary Numan. Several actors also graced St. Nick’s packed bar, like RJ Mitte from Breaking Bad.

The party, which was listed as one of the top 10 Grammys soirees by The Hollywood Reporter,  featured not only karaoke in the back of the venue, but also a DJ in the front playing the latest hits. In addition, a churro stand passed out sugary treats and a brass band – complete with a tuba, trombone and trumpet – passed through the bar unannounced to fire up the crowd.

All in all, the Wammys proved to be one of Hollywood’s hottest Grammy celebrations, and it didn’t take ball gowns and tuxedos to make for a fun night.
