Fender and Guitar Center will present Grammy®-nominated blues/rock guitar ace and Fender signature artist Kenny Wayne Shepherd in a free public educational forum at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Guitar Center Pasadena.
"Guitar Center Sessions: An Evening of Dialogue and Insight with Kenny Wayne Shepherd" is the latest installment of Guitar Center’s Sessions program, which provides musicians with informative opportunities and close-up tutorial experiences with some of the guitar world’s most acclaimed artists. That evening, Shepherd will candidly share his career highlights, discuss his soulful technique and award-winning songwriting, and talk in depth about his Fender artist signature series Kenny Wayne Shepherd Stratocaster guitar, introduced in 2008.
Shepherd burst onto the music scene in the mid-1990s as a 16-year-old blues/rock sensation with a fiery and virtuoso guitar style. He has sold millions of albums worldwide, including Ledbetter Heights (1995), the Grammy®-nominated Trouble Is … (1998) and Live On (1999), and 2004’s The Place You’re In. Shepherd’s acclaimed 2007 CD/DVD 10 Days Out: Blues From the Backroads documents his travels around the nation to play with and interview blues greats such as Clarence “Gatemouth Brown” and B.B. King.
As noted, Guitar Center Sessions: An Evening of Dialogue and Insight with Kenny Wayne Shepherd is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
