Event promotes music education through the Fender Music Foundation and Phoenix’s Ear Candy Charity
Fender employees will be performing music by The Beatles and much more at the Fender Band Jam “With A Little Help From My Friends” concert benefitting the Fender Music Foundation and Ear Candy Charity on Friday, Oct. 22. The event kicks-off at 5 p.m. at the Compound Grill, located at 7000 E. Mayo Blvd., Bldg. 21 (northeast corner of 68th Street and Mayo Blvd) in Phoenix.
There is a $5 minimum donation cover charge for this very special all-ages show. Proceeds generated from the concert will be donated to the Fender Music Foundation and Ear Candy Charity, non-profit music organizations devoted to providing children access to music education.
Casey Lee Smith, winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, will be Fender’s guest performer. Casey, a young aspiring musician who recently graduated high school, is a testament to the success that is possible when support and guidance is provided to young people.
Several valuable items, including Fender instruments and amps, and a gold sparkle Gretsch electric guitar, will be raffled off throughout the night. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each. Patrons can also bid on a very special grand prize (to be determined).
“It seems like every day the budget for a school’s music program is taken away, and it has been our mission to address this sad situation,” Moriah Harris-Rodger, executive director of the Fender Music Foundation said. “We are grateful to Fender for supporting music education programs and for selecting the Fender Music Foundation as a beneficiary of its band jam.”
“Ear Candy Charity is so fortunate to have such a strong community partner like Fender to support its mission and we are delighted to be a beneficiary of this event with the Fender Music Foundation,” states Nate Anderson, Ear Candy Charity’s Founder and President. “Together we will ensure that future generations have their well-deserved access to music education.”
