Bassist and Fender artist Eva Gardner is featured in the November issue of Bass Frontiers magazine.
Gardner, whose father was the Birds/the Creation bassist Kim Gardner, recalled how she grew up around rock and roll in her native Hollywood, Calif.
“That’s what I remember from a really early age,” she told Bass Frontiers. “Music, musicians, rock and roll, folks coming around the house, parties, and staying up late with dad and his friends.”
She also described how she became enamored with her dad’s Precision Bass.
“My father was a Fender player from the early ’60s,” she told the magazine, “And his prized possession was his 1962 Fiesta Red Fender Precision that I could not lay a finger on – ever.”
After her father passed away, Gardner took ownership of the bass.
