Esperanza Spalding appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to perform a “Black Gold” off her critical and commercial hit Radio Music Society Monday night.
Spalding, who owns the honor of being the first-ever jazz musician to receive a Grammy award for Best New Artist, has a tour kicking off April 18 in Buffalo, N.Y., that will span the world.
